How do I change my OC Password? What are the Password Requirements?
Click Here for instructions on changing your password in Windows.
Click Here for instructions on updating your keychain for the Mac side.
To change your password via the web, navigate to http://oc.edu/password.
If you have forgotten your password, please visit our answer for a forgotten password.
Please note that your OC password will let you into your computer, email, myOC, blackboard, and other network resources. Changing your password in any of these places should change it in all of them.
You cannot change your password to your computer while you are off campus. If you change your password while you are off campus, your new password will allow you to access all web-based applications (e.g. email, blackboard, or MyOC). You will still need to use your old password to log in to your computer until you are able to come to campus.
You must ensure that your password is at least eight characters long, and cannot include any part of your username in it. In addition, it must contain at least three of the following types of characters:
* An upper case letter
* A lower case letter
* A number
* A symbol
You may not use a password you have used before.
Faculty/Staff members, and those with specific access will be required to change their password every 90 days. You will receive an email 15 days before it will be necessary for the change. You will also receive warnings at 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 days. These emails will let you know when exactly your password will expire and what steps you need to take to change your password.
If you believe you are following these requirements and are still unable to change your password, please contact Support Central at 405-425-5555 or by email at supportcentral@oc.edu

Thanks for the reminder that I can't make any changes to log-in from off campus.
Can you provide the history requirements as well
Passwords can not be used a second time after 2 years. It's most secure to use a completely different password from what you have use in the past.
Could you add instructions for Mac users regarding changing the password in the Keychain? After changing my network password, the Keychain constantly prompts me to enter a password for everything.
It actually wasn't that bad! I'm so glad that OC cares more about my password security than anyone else! I should probably update all of my 5+ year old passwords... I've had the same facebook password since 2007! I better change it before somebody finally figures out my oldest secret string of lowercase letters!!! YIKES!
Also I can no longer sign into Chrome
wasn't that hard, easy i guess. Thanks for support and clear instruction. By the way what do you suggest as a password lifetime? We may need to change others we use.
thanks for this however a colleague has just told me that he changed his e-mail password which is supposed to have expired however he still uses the old one.how is that possible?
Jennifer, if your colleague is having trouble with his password, please have him contact Support Central and we'll be happy to help him.
