Export/Backup Internet Favorites

Exporting in Internet Explorer 9

Choose one of the two following options:

 

Option 1

Backup the "Favorites" folder from your profile.

C:\Users\firstname.lastname\Favorites

 

 

Option 2

Open Import/Export Settings

Open Import/Export Settings
  1. Click the "Favorites" button on the right side of the Menu bar
 .
  2. Click on the Down Arrow next to "Add to Favorites"
  3. Select "Import and export..."

  1. Select "Export to a file."
  2. Click "Next."

  1. Select "Favorites."
  2. Click "Next."

  1. Choose the favorites that you want to export from the files displayed in the box.
  2. Click "Next."

 

Choose Destination Folder

  1. Use the "Browse..." button to find the folder to which you would like to export the files.
  2. Click "Export."

 

Transfer the Files to the Second Computer

Through such means as the network, a CD, a USB flash drive, or email, copy the files onto the second computer.

  1. Click the "Favorites" button on the right side of the Menu bar

  2. Click on the Down Arrow next to "Add to Favorites"
  3. Select "Import and export..."

  2. Click "Next."

  1. Use the "Browse..." button to choose the folder from which you would like to import the favorites.
  2. Click "Next."

 

Click "Finish."

Exporting in Safari

 

Open the Export Bookmarks Window

Open the Export Bookmarks Window
  1. From Safari, click on "File" in the menu bar.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select "Export Bookmarks..."

 

Choose Name and Destination

Choose Name and Destination
  1. Enter a name for the folder containing the bookmarks.
  2. Choose a destination for the folder.
  3. Click "Save."

 

Transfer the Files to the Second Computer
