Mac OS Updates Not Installing

If it says you are not authorized when you are trying to update to "Mac OS Update Combined," please follow the instructions below to fix the problem.

 

Open Finder

Navigate to "Updates" Folder

Navigate to "Updates" Folder
  1. In Finder, click on "Mac OS X" in the left panel.
  2. Open the "Library" folder.
  3. Open the "Updates" folder.
  4. Select everything in that folder.

 

 

Move Items in the "Updates" Folder to Trash

Move Items in the "Updates" Folder to Trash
  1. Right-click selected items to reveal a drop-down menu.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select "Move to Trash."

 

 

Empty Trash

Empty Trash
  1. Right-click on the trash can at the end of your control panel.
  2. Select "Empty Trash."

 

After following these steps, you should be able to install Mac updates. If the Mac updates are not installing, please contact Support Central for help.
