VPN - Setup Connection on Windows 8 and 8.1

1. In the bottom-right corner of your desktop, right-click on the network icon.
2. Select Open Network and Sharing Center

 Click Set up a new connection or network

1. Click Connect to a workplace.
2. Click Next

Select Use my Internet Connection (VPN)

1. In the internet address box type, vpn.oc.edu
2. Enter a destination name.  (We recommend OC VPN)

1. Go back to the Network and Sharing screen
2. Click Change adapter settings

1. Right-click on the new OC VPN to reveal a drop-down menu.
2. From  the menu, select Properties

1. Navigate to the Security tab.
2. Under Type of VPN select Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec)
3. Select the Allow these protocols radio button.
4. Check the Microsoft CHAP Version 2 checkbox.

Your VPN connection should say Connected

If you see the above error, go back to the step on this page labeled Change Security Settings and make sure you have followed this step correctly.
