Installing Affinity for Laserfiche

Affinity provides features in conjunction with Laserfiche.  You must have a Laserfiche license to use Affinity.

This is a Windows-only application.

Connect to the Server:

Connect to the Server:

1. Select the Start Menu

2. Type \\software.oc.edu\dist\laserfiche in the search bar

3. Select Affinity 2.1.099

4. Select affinity_2_1_099

5. Select Yes

6. Select Next

7. Select "I accept the terms of the license agreement"

8. Select Next

9. Select Next

10. Select Install

11. It will take a few minutes for the program to install

12. Select Finish

13. You will need to restart your computer before you will be able to use Affinity.

14. A shortcut will be created on your desktop. Double-click to open Affinity to finish the set-up process.

15. Click on the arrow to the right of Manage and select "Scan for Repositories"

16. Click OK

The repository is "OC on LaserficheApp.oc.edu".

Make sure the check box for "Windows Authentication" is checked.

17. Click the Log on arrow

You should now see the Affinity tool bar on your Desktop.

Global Configuration.

  1. In the bottom right-hand corner, click the arrow on your system try.
  2. Right-click on the Affinity icon
  3. From the menu that appears, click on Tools
  4. Select "Global Configuration."

  1. Open the Options tab
  2. Make sure "Allow users to image enable any screens for their own profile" is selected in the Image Enable Screen Policy.
  3. Press OK.

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. From the Gear icon in the top Right select Manage Add-Ons

  1. Find the DataNOW browser helper and make sure it is Enabled.
  2. Close the toolbar

Configure Affinity with Colleague

  1. Open Colleague (http://colleague.oc.edu)
  2. Search for a person
  3. Select the Gear icon on the Affinity Toolbar to open LaserFiche
  1. On the Image Enable Screen, select "Local Configuration" from the drop-down.
  2. Create New Configuration should be selected
  3. Press OK.
  1. Click on the "User Defined Tokens" tab
  2. Click on the ID number
  3. Select "Add Token"
  1. Change the Token Name to IDNumber (with no spaces).
  2. Press OK.
  1. Select the "Configure Search" tab.
  2. Select your default search template.
  3. Press the arrow next to I number and select IDNumber in the popup that appears.
  4. Press OK.

The install is now complete.  After you find a person in Colleague, you can click on the binoculars to open the person in Laserfiche.
