FileMaker Pro - Install on Mac

These instructions show how to install Filemaker Pro for Mac from the server.

Connect to Server

Connect to Server

Connect to OC's software server to download the software package.

  1. Press Command-K to open the Connect to Server dialogue box.
  2. In the server address bar type: smb://software.oc.edu/dist/filemaker
  3. Click Connect

Authenticate

  1. Enter your OC username
  2. Enter your OC password
  3. Click Connect

Launch the Installer

  1. Navigate to FilemakerPro/14
  2. Double-click on fmp_14.01.1.175.dmg to launch it.

Begin Install

  • Click on the installer to begin installing

Continue

  1. Click Continue on the pop-up message.
  2. Then, click continue on the welcome screen.

Personalization

  1. Enter your Name.
  2. Enter Oklahoma Christian University as the Organization.
  3. Obtain the License Key.  The client license key is in the text file in the install folder.
  4. Click Continue

  1. Make sure English is selected.
  2. Click Continue

  • Click Install

Allow Program to Install

Wait.
  • This may take several minutes.

Skip Registration

  • Click Register Later to skip registration.

Installation Complete

  • Click Close

Launch FileMaker Pro

  1. Click on the Spotlight in the upper right-hand corner
  2. Start typing FileMaker
  3. Select the FileMaker Pro application

Open Remote Session

  1. Click File from the program menu in the upper-left hand corner.
  2. Click Open Remote.

Add Host

Add Host
  1. Click the plus sign ( + ) in the bottom right-hand corner to add a favorite host
  2. Enter fmpro1.oc.edu as the Host's Internet Address
  3. Click Save

Select Folder

Select Folder

Select the folder with the information you'd like to access to get started.

Success!

You have successfully installed FileMaker Pro on Mac.
