If you are getting a message that Windows is not genuine, you will need to connect to our validation servers to activate.
- If you are on campus, please complete the steps below.
- If you are off campus, you will need to connect to OC via VPN before completing these steps.
Open System Properties

- Click on Windows icon to open the Start Menu
- Within the menu, right-click on "Computer"
- Select "Properties" from the resulting drop-down menu.
Activate Windows

- Scroll to the bottom of the resulting window.
- Click "Activate Windows Now" in order to activate Windows.
