IMAP allows the user to archive their email on their computer or device while having a backup stored on a remote server. IMAP also allows for seamless synchronization of read, archived, and deleted messages across all devices.
For these instructions, please log in to your Gmail account. If you do not know how to log in to your OC email account, please see our instructions on how to Access Google Apps.
Navigate to Settings
- Click the Settings icon in the top right corner of your screen.
- Click Settings
Forwarding and POP/IMAP
Click on the tab labeled Forwarding and POP/IMAP
Enable IMAP
- Select Enable IMAP
- Click Save Changes
