Connect to a Server - Windows 10

These instructions show you how to connect to one of OC's servers in Windows 10. If you would like to connect to the server from off campus, please set up a VPN connection first.

Open the Folders Application

Open the Folders application
  • Click on the Folder icon in your system tray.

Connect to the Server

View Available Networks

Navigate to the "Network" tab
  • Click on the Network tab

Search for the OC software server

Search for the OC software server
  1. Copy and paste the following into the search bar: \\\dist
  2. Hit the Enter key

The software server is one of the most commonly used servers. If you need to access another server, simply type in that server's name after the double back-slashes.

To protect privacy, not all files and folders are available to all users. If you do not have access something and believe you should, please contact Support Central.

Enter your OC credentials

Enter your OC credentials
  1. Enter OC\ and then your OC username
  2. Enter your OC password
  3. Click Ok


You have successfully connected to a server.
