Laserfiche Connector will allow you to start a search of LaserFiche from a person's record in Colleague.
These instructions have the following sections:
This program is only available for certain users due to licensing agreements. If you do not have access and believe you should have access to this program, please contact Support Central.
This installation will require you to restart your computer. Please save and close all open files now.
Installing Laserfiche Connector
Connect to Server
- Click the start button
- Type (or copy and paste) \\software\dist\Laserfiche\Connector\10.3Connector into the search bar
- Hit Enter (not pictured)
Launch the AutoRun Application
Double-click to launch the Autorun application file.
Select Installer
Select Install LaserFiche Connector 10.3
Allow Changes
Click Yes
Select Language
- Leave English as the language
- Select OK
Welcome
Click Next on the Welcome screen.
Accept Agreement
- Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement
- Select Next
Select Components
- Make sure the boxes next to Laserfiche Connector 10 and Profile Creator are checked.
- Select Next
Run Installation
Click Install
Allow Installation to Run
This may take several minutes.
Being connected to the network using an ethernet cable will speed up the installation process.
Continue with Restart
Click Next
Restart Your Computer
Click Yes
Get Key
- Return to the Connector folder (\\software.oc.edu\dist\Laserfiche\Connector)
- Open the Connector License Key 2017 file
Enter Key
- Copy the license key from the text file above and paste it into the activation key box.
- Click Next
Install
- Click Install to begin the installation.
Prerequisites
- Wait for the prerequisites to install and click Next
Install Connector
- Wait for Connector to install and click Next
Finish Installation
Click Finish to complete the software installation. But wait! You're not done. Continue with the configuration steps below.
Configuring Connector Properties
Configure Chrome
If Chrome is always in your taskbar, you need to unpin it. If it is not already pinned, you can skip this step.
- Quit Chome
- Right-click on the Chome icon in the taskbar.
- Select Unpin this program from taskbar.
Change Properties
- Click on the Start button
- Right click on Chrome
- Select Properties
Edit Shortcut
- Open the Shortcut Tab
- in the Target add a space after chrome.exe
- add the text --remote-debugging-port=9222
- Click Apply
Continue
- A message will pop up saying that you need administrator privileges to continue.
- Click Continue.
Launch Chrome and Enable Extension
- Launch Google Chrome.
- If a pop-up appears, click Enable Extension.
Add Configuration
- In Chrome, Navigate to Colleague (colleague.oc.edu)
- Search for a person to pull up their card
- Click Add on the Connector Configuration window.
Create Profile
- The website information will auto-fill
- Click Next
Define Tokens
- Name the Token. For this example, we used ID.
- Grab the icon next to the Token name field and drag it into the Colleague window.
- Highlight the data you want to use for your search. In this case, we will use ID number.
- Click Next (at the bottom of the window - not pictured) to continue.
Select Repository
- In the Laserfiche server box enter laserficheapp.oc.edu
- In the Repository Name box enter OC
- Make sure Windows Authentication is selected.
- Select Next
Search Criteria
- Select Quick Search
- Click on the > next to the Search box
- Select Token Dialog.
Define Results
- Click on the > next to the Search box, select the name of the token you created (in this case ID)
- In the regular expression field, type \d (indicating digit) seven times to collect the full ID number without the HR or REG or other module.
- Click OK
Define Search Criteria
- In the Select within section, uncheck all boxes except for All Fields
- Click Next
Create Shortcut
- You can select a new keyboard shortcut or leave it as is.
- Click Next.
Add Button to Colleague
- Use the Slider to re-size the button.
- Drag the button to Colleague.
Test
- Click the Test button. Laserfiche should open with the search results
- Click Finish.
Complete
Now, when you launch Colleague in Chrome, the Laserfiche button should be there so you can search for a person's records directly from Colleague.
Implementing the HotFix Update
Open Hotfix Folder
Double-click the Hotfix folder in the Laserfiche Connector folder.
Open the Installer
Double-click to run the installer.
Allow Changes
Click Yes
Finish the Installation
Click Finish
Success!
You have successfully configured Laserfiche Connector with Colleague.
