SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a software package used for statistical analysis. To use this program, you must either be on campus or connected to OC via VPN.
Follow the instructions below to install SSPS on Windows.
Find Folder on Server
- Click on the start button
- Type in \\software.oc.edu\dist\IBM\SPSS
- Click SPSS
Open the Installer
- Double-click on the SPSS_Statistics_28_win64 installer
If the installer does not seem to be responding, please make sure you have Java installed and updated. If the installer still does not respond, please contact Support Central.
Allow Changes to be Made
- Click Yes
Allow Installer to Install
This may take several minutes.
Acknowledge the Install Wizard
- Click Next
Accept the Agreement
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement
- Click Next
Install Python Essentials
- Select Yes
- Click Next
Accept the Agreement
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement
- Click Next
Confirm Install Destination
- Click Next
Install the Program
- Click Install
Allo Program to Install
This may take several minutes.
Finish Installation
- Leave the Start IBM SPSS Statistics box checked.
- Click Finish
License Product
- SPSS will launch.
- Click License Product to start the License Wizard
License Status
- Click Next on the License Status screen
Product Authorization
- Select Concurrent user License
- Click Next
License Manager
- Enter levi.oc.edu as the license manager
- Click Next
Licensing Completed
- Licensing is now complete.
- Click Finish
Start SPSS
- Open the Start Menu.
- Click All Programs
- Open the IBM SPSS Statisctics folder
- Select IBM SPSS Statisctics 24
Finished
- If you do not want to use SPSS right now, click Close
Success!
- You have successfully installed SPSS on your Windows computer.
