Directions (for Firefox)
- Open your Firefox Browser and select the three horizontal bars in the upper right hand corner.
- In the menu, select Options (it looks like a gear).
- Once in the about:preferences tab, scroll down to the section labeled Firefox Updates.
- Under the subsection Allow Firefox to, ensure the circle next to Automatically install updates (recommended) is marked and the box next to Automatically update search engines is checked (this will keep the browser up to date in the future).
- Then click the Restart to update Firefox button.
- Now Firefox will automatically check for updates and update itself when it is opened.
- All done!
Directions (for Chrome)
- Open your Chrome Browser and select the Customize and Control Google Chrome icon upper right hand corner.
- In the menu, select the Help option (at the bottom of the list).
- Choose About Google Chrome.
- Now click Relaunch.
