Google Document
- Locate, select, and copy (Ctrl +C/ Command+C) the URL (web address) you want linked into a document.
- In the doc, find the text you want to make into a clickable link. Tip: use the verb or subject as the clickable link: click, here, document (e.g. “Click here to open the Web page you need to see for the upcoming assignment.”)
- Highlight the selected text.
- Example: In “Click here to open the Web page you need to see for the upcoming assignment” you want “Click here” to be clickable hyperlink, highlight “Click here”
- On menu bar, click Insert--> Link, the icon looks like a chain link.

Note: shortcut for Windows is Ctrl+K
- In the “Link” or “Address” text box, paste (Ctrl+V/ Command+V) the Web address (URL).

- Choose Apply.
Word Document/Windows Images
- Locate, select, and copy (Ctrl +C) the URL (web address) you want linked into a document.
- At the top, click the Insert tab.
- Then, click on Hyperlink.

- Next to "Text to display:", type in what you want the hyperlink to appear as.
- Next to "Address:", paste (Ctrl+V) the Web address (URL) you copied earlier.
- Finally, click OK.

Word Document/Mac Images
- Locate, select, and copy (Command+C) the URL (web address) you want linked into a document.
- At the top, click the Links tab.
- Then, click on Link.

- Next to "Text to display:", type in what you want the hyperlink to appear as.
- Next to "Address:", paste (Command+V) the Web address (URL) you copied earlier.
- Finally, click OK.
