This is to help you use the Faulty Tools App for transferring your grades from Blackboard for Midterm and final grades.
Blackboard Grade Center
The first item needed is a column in your Blackboard grade center that has your students’ grades calculated and presented as a letter. Please go to a course's grade center to get started. If your overall grade column in your grade center is already showing a letter grade then skip to Transfer Letter Grades to Registrar.
Overall Grade Column
Click the down arrows next to the column you are using for final grades. In this example, the Weighted Total column will be used.
Click Edit Column Information
Edit Primary Display
Click the dropdown menu for Primary Display and select Letter
Click Submit (not pictured)
Transfer Letter Grades to Registrar
Open facultytools.oc.edu in a new tab in your web browser.
Gradebook
You can see that this is the same interface where you upload your syllabi. This time we are going to click Gradebook at the top.
View Courses for Term/Grading Period
- Double-check to make sure the correct term and grade period have been selected.
- Select Grading Period. The grading period should be MidTerm or Final Grades.
- All of the courses you taught for that term should appear automatically.
- Click View Grades for the course you are transferring grades for.
Grade Selection
Select the column containing the students' letter grades. (This should match the overall grade column from the steps above).
Success!
All of your grades should be entered appropriately.
If you have any blanks, it may be because students have dropped; at this point leave them blank. However, if they are students that need a grade you can manually enter it here.
It is possible that you may need to input an I for Incomplete. You can also do that here, but you will also need to designate a completion date by when the student should complete the missing work.
After the grade submission due date, you will not be able to change them. If you need to make changes, please submit a Grade Change Request form. This form can be located using the search function on myOC.
