Blackboard - How to Embed a Youtube Video

Step 1: On your computer, in one tab, please navigate to youtube, and in another tab, sign into Blackboard

Step 2: Open the video you want to embed.

Step 3: Click Share .

Step 4: From the list of Share options, click Embed.

Step 5: From the box that appears, copy the HTML code.

Step 6:  Now, click over into the tab where you are signed into Blackboard.

Step 7: Go to the course that you wish to embed the video into.

Step 8: Go to the area of the course you want the video in, then hover the "Build Content" button.

Step 9: Select the "Item" option.

Step 10: After this, a new window will open up. Give your video a name and select the embed button.

If posting an instructional video, we recommend adding a brief explanation to your students inside the Text Box introducing the purpose of the video and the length of time to watch it.

Step 11: Paste the code into the embed box.

Step 12: Click "Save" and then "Submit."
