Use these instructions to connect from your Mac operating system to a lab machine with a Windows operating system.
Connect to VPN
In order to connect remotely, you'll need to be connected to OC via VPN. You can find VPN setup and connection instructions at the following links:
Download Microsoft Remote Desktop
From the Mac App Store, find the Microsoft Remote Desktop and download and install it.
Connect
- Click the Plus button to add a new Desktop Connection.
- Select Desktops.
- Enter the hostname for the computer provided by your instructor.
- If you'd like, you can add a friendly name.
- Click Add.
From your list of saved desktops, click on the connection you just created.
- In the Username field, type OC\ followed by your username.
- Enter your password.
- Press Continue.
Press Continue to verify the connection.
You are now ready to use the remote desktop.
Log Out When Finished
- Click the Start Menu.
- Select the person icon.
- Click Sign Out.
Do not Shut Down the computer. It will shut down the physical machine and prevent any further connections.
